Last night we celebrated our last swap in Melbourne with the lovely Juliette. Over the years Juliette has transformed The Clothing Exchange from a fumbly, little idea that hid in the back of lane bars- to a roaring swapping success. Juliette is heading south with her sweetheart to Tassie and will continue to run the national swap teams and scheme behind the scenes with Kate (just over skype instead of her chai latte). While we anticipate that she’ll pop into town often, on the day-to-day side of things, her friendly face, wonderful brain and endless enthusiasm will be sorely missed! So we’re taking this moment to toast to a real treasure and her the best of luck! Bye bye love

Our lovely Adelaide team Chantal & Krystal may have just started swapping, but their events have become a huge success with 150 swappers at the first and 100 at the following event. This month they are offering a DESIGNER exchange to the savvy fashionistas of South Australia.
The Designer Exchange will be held on Tuesday 30th June, check in begins at 6.30pm at the ultra chic, National Wine Centre, Cnr Botanic & Hackney Rds.

And of course The Clothing Exchange website will have all the details for upcoming events.
We are constantly blown away by the amazingness that is The Clothing Exchange. Last night in Melbourne we had over 80 keen swappers exchanging clothes at Federation Square! It was a great event with many a happy swapper disappearing into the night with armfuls of lovely new clothes to love! Thankyou to all those that participated and of course all of the amazing volunteers that worked so hard to make the event run smoothly.
The next event in Melbourne will be on July 15th as part of the State of Design Festival. Bring along up to 6 retro or vintage garments you value but no longer wear to swap for those you will! This event will be held at a new little venue Lily Blacks. Spaces are strictly limited to book early to avoid disappointment! See you there…
On the 28th March, The Clothing Exchange was invited by Whitehorse City Council to host an exchange event as part of their earth hour celebrations. The event was a roaring success, with 40 happy swappers, 4 smiley The Clothing Exchange worker bees (including the lovely Felicity, Juliette, Kate and Sue), many Whitehorse City Council volunteers and one film crew! While we ate lollies a plenty and swapped til our hearts content, the friendly lasses Kate and Bali from WCC were so appreciative that we’d brought The Clothing Exchange to enliven the festival in the gardens. And… given the success of it all, the Clothing Exchange team looks forward to swapping with the Whitehorse City Council girls later in the year!
As of April 2009, The Clothing Exchange has been lucky to be selected for an RMIT SEEDS grant and support. For the next year, The Clothing Exchange will be expanding the interstate hosting and Community-based exchange events through councils, schools and like organisations. SEEDS is a new RMIT based Social Entrepreneurship network and Kate Luckins will be starting to help mentor other projects within this network in the year to come.
So thanks SEEDS for your generocity, and to Marcus, Robin and Shaun for their support and assistance!
